A plant does not care how the cable was pulled. It cares whether the loop reads true at 08:00 on start-up.

We are a process electrical and instrumentation contractor. That means field devices, hook-ups, tray and cable, terminations, calibration and the testing that proves all of it works together before anyone puts feed into the unit.

Most of our work sits alongside a main contractor on a live or turning-around plant, where the constraint is rarely the labour — it is the permit, the isolation, and the sequence. We plan for that, and we document as we go so that handover is a formality rather than a fight.

MethodHow a job runs

Six steps, in this order, every time.

Each one gates the next. Skipping ahead is how punch lists grow, so we don't.

  1. 1

    Drawings and scope review

    We work from your loop drawings, hook-up standards, cable schedules and area classification drawings. Discrepancies are raised as technical queries before material is ordered, not after it is on site.

  2. 2

    Material take-off and staging

    Take-off against the issued-for-construction drawings, then verification that glands, fittings and enclosures match the Ex protection concept for each area before anything is staged to the field.

  3. 3

    Installation

    Supports, tray and tubing first, then equipment, then cable. Work is released against permits and progressed on a plan that respects the mechanical and civil sequence rather than fighting it.

  4. 4

    Termination

    Field junction boxes, marshalling and system cabinets terminated to the wiring schedule, with continuity, insulation and polarity confirmed before any circuit is energised.

  5. 5

    Loop check and test

    Every loop proven end to end, from the field device to the control system graphic. Trips and alarms are verified at setpoint and the results signed into the loop folder.

  6. 6

    Punch clearance and handover

    Punch items tracked to closure, as-built drawings marked up, and the certificate and loop folder set handed over complete. The job is finished when the documentation is finished.

The permit comes first. Everything else waits.

Nobody on our crew starts work without a permit in hand, a briefing on the isolation boundary, and a gas test result they have seen for themselves.

Safety on a process plant is not a poster — it is a sequence of checks that either happened or did not. We work to the client's permit-to-work system, hold a toolbox meeting at the start of every shift, and stop when conditions change rather than pushing on to hold a schedule.
